Residential Services
The Arc Southern Chesapeake provides safe, supportive housing that helps adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) live independently and feel connected to their communities.

Living with Choice, Dignity, and Connection

The Arc Southern Chesapeake provides safe and supportive housing for adults with IDD, operating more than 30 homes throughout Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s counties, and now in Anne Arundel County.
Our residential services are designed to help people live with independence, dignity, and a strong sense of connection to their communities. Residential programs are built around choice, honoring preferences for housemates, staff, neighborhoods, daily routines, and activities.
Each person is at the center of their planning process, and our supports are tailored to help individuals live meaningful, fulfilling lives from early adulthood through retirement and beyond.

Residential services may include:
- Assistance with daily living, personal care, transportation, medical appointments, meal planning, shopping, household management, banking and budgeting
- Skill development
- Nursing or psychological support
- Opportunities to build community connections
Available around the clock, our services are provided in both group home settings and alternative living arrangements, creating safe and welcoming spaces where individuals can thrive, pursue their goals, and feel truly at home.
What Our Community Says

“Being part of The Arc makes me feel good because I’ve been to a lot of programs, but this is the only one I like.”
